Paulaner, Salvator, 7.5% ABV

Salvator is unquestionably the best of all German beers. A delicious sweet beer, with treacle and chocolate bursting forth. It has a burnt flavour, with caramel, and a bit of honey. The burnt aspect continues into the aftertaste, but it becomes sweeter, almost like syrup. It has a bouquet of sweet bubbly caramel and honey, and a sweet syrupy mouthfeel. This is a full-bodied, though underlyingly fresh beer, with a lot of fizz, producing a smooth, lacy, bubbly head. Superb!
