Tom Wood's, Jolly Ploughman, 5.6% ABV
I might be mistaken, but I think this beer might have altered recently. I’ve never been a fan of Jolly Ploughman. I’ve always thought it was a bit too bittery, with only the fact the it’s got a good head of froth and a crisp taste in its favour. Now, however, my opinion of it has improved no end.
It has a nutty flavour, preceding an earthy, woody finish. It has the scent of charcoal and oak, with an earthy texture that warms you up inside. The high carbonation gives this beer an attractive bubbly head. A full-bodied, medium sweet beer, dark to dark-golden, that’s not to be taken lightly.
