Somewhere in the World

A lonely saxophone blows in my mind
It is the saddest of its kind
I wonder where he is
I wish my feet could walk on air
And take me there

I hear the rolling thunder in my head
I’d rather hear his voice instead
If I could call him now
I think I know just what he’d say
“we’ll have our day”

Somewhere in the world
Somebody dreams about me every night
Somewhere on this Earth
I know he'd give his all just to hold me tight

If I could take this heart within my chest
If I could put it to the test
I know it couldn’t fail
It only beats to keep the time
Till he is mine

For I know in his soul he feels the same
Right now he’s whispering my name
I feel it on my skin
It’s like a gentle butterfly
As I breathe a sigh

Somewhere in this world
Someone believes in me and everything I do
Somewhere on this earth
he strives to make me see that his love is true

Let patience be a virtue I can learn
Let me wait till it’s my turn
Who am I kidding here?
This fever grabbed on to my soul
And won’t let go

The only thing that saves my sanity
Is the soothing certainty
That this was meant to be
The wheels of life will turn around
And the lost will be found

Until then
Somewhere in the world someone will dream of me
Every single night
Somewhere on this earth
I know he’d give his all
Just to hold me tight
