| Ghinius Sakhalin's younger sister, the petit Ayna is considered one of the most beautiful women in the Duchy of Zeon's mostly male military population. Don't let looks alone fool you. Even though she doesn't have a military rank, she is a decent pilot, and was put in charge of testing her brother Ghinius' experiments, noteably the MS-06RD4 Zaku Test Type, which paved the way for the MS-R09 Rick Dom, as well as piloting the first and second Apsaras, and then co-piloting Apsaras III with Ghinius himself. After a very chancy run-in with Federation rookie Shiro Amada, Ayna begins to take a liking to him, first as a simple need to cooperate to survive, then a full-blown affair when both her Apsaras II and his Gundam Ground Type are left stranded in the middle of the Himilayias. In strong contrast to her brother, Ayna is a very caring person, always concerned about the pilots and soldiers around her. Also unlike Ghinius, she commonly makes herself present in helping with general activity in her brother's base. Though a Zeon at heart, Ayna begins to show her true colors during the final run-in with the 08th MS Team and her now-mad brother's Apsaras III. |
