Mechadomain's Acguy illustration
While the Zimmad company, now famous for their ground pounding MS-09 Dom, was designing their own amphibious MS to replace the utter failure of the Mariner Zaku, the rival Zeonic corporation, seeking to strike back at their corporate enemies, fielded another design
This picture was drawn with care by Mark Simmons of the Gundam Project. This is his illustration, not mine, so all credit is due to him. Also, notice that this Acguy bears the more blocky, square legs from the Gundam 0079 TV series, rather than the sleek, streamlined legs of the 08th MS Team OVA's Acguy model.
dubbed the MSM-04 Acguy. Acguy was a cheap, easy to mass produce unit, yet it maintained a strong power in its own. Powered by two Zaku reactors, the Acguy's power level was realitively low, making it an ideal mobile suit for covert operations as its heat sdigniture was small. Acguys are easily recognizeable by their massive, immobile heads and pronounced snouts. Also, like the MS-06K Zaku Cannon, Acguy's mount a 360 degree mono-eye, a must to compensate the lack head mobility. Acguys also mounted four 105mm vulcans, two on either side of the head, for close to medium range combat, as well as six missile launchers on the left arm, and a mega particle cannon in the right. Also, when the mission called for it, an Acguy could be fitted with a large caliber, high-velocity vulcan, replacing the mega particle cannon. Also, unlike the Zimmad's MSM-03 Gogg, which relied on water cooled reactors, Acguy could function on land just as well as most land mobile suits, making them very dangerous to the Federal Forces, especially during a Zeon amphibious invasion. Another improvement over the Gogg, an Acguy's high underwater mobility allows it to function
independantly from other mobile suits for extended periods of time. In addition to the right arm's mega particle cannon or high velocity vulcan, the right arm also mounted a heavy duty claw, perfect for close range smashing, bashing and crushing. This claw could neatly fold up into the Acguy's hand if it became a burden to aiming and firing the hand weapon. Very versatile mobile suits, Acguys are durable and strong, even able to function with deadly force when crippled or severly damaged.
