This page is dedicated to observations made with a 60mm Meade ETX.  The observing reports shown below should give you a flavour of what you can see with this type of instrument.

Eyepiece 25mm ( 14x ) & 9mm ( 39x ) MA's
Observing notes:

I started by doing an easy align, which went without a hitch.

Jupiter
At 14x: could not see any real planetary details. At 39x: could see the cloud bands.

Saturn
At 14x: could see ears, but could not separate from the planet. At 39x: could see a ring around the planet, but no other details.

M42
At 14x: Small nebulas area. At 39x: Could see it better, and could resolve the 4 main stars of the Trapezium

M45
At 14x: Wide patch of bright stars with many fainter stars, very nice.

M37
At 14x: much fainter than M45, more tightly concentrated.
