Observing notes: |
Headed to the observation site and arrived
at approx 9.00pm CDT set up the Telescopes and allowed 40 mins to cool
down...Temp was approx 94 Degree's.
Positioned the ETX125EC to view M13 (My first real try at Deep Sky with
the ETX). After aligning the ETX to Vega and Antares , the Autostar
moved to M13 and was about 1 degree off to North...gradually move the
scope to view M13. With the 26mm I could see M13 as a wide spread of Stars
, and my first look, it looked great after I had tried this with my old
ETX90EC. this certainly made the upgrade worth it. M13 came through as
a little Fuzzy.
My Daughter and I set up one of the clubs 10" Meade
Dobsonians , move it to M13 and viewed it in all it's Magnificence...There
is truly a great deal of Difference between the ETX and a Dob...albeit
5" in Aperture. The dobsonian gave Excellent Clear Views of this
Magnificent globular Cluster.
Comment: Looking through a Large Dob makes sense...but Portability is
the problem. Plus it was nearly a Full Moon last Night
