Observing notes: |
This marked the "first light" session for
my new Orion 127mmStarMax.(5' f/12.1).I really didn't know what to expect from this scope. Set up was quick and easy. I do not have the drive
system installed yet, but that's coming soon I hope!! It's really
necessary! I like to use high powered oculars on the Moon and Planets. I was really
happy with the crisp and clear images obtained with the 15mm(102x)and the 26mm(59x)oculars.The
Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina crater chain were so filled with details and shadows I had never before
noticed (with a small scope). Surrounding areas were just as surprisingly wealthy in
fine details. I'm very happy with this scope and will submit more reports
when I view a few planets!! Now, let's see...where is Mars these |
