MISSION SYSTEM AND RANK

MISSION SYSTEM

as of 10/17/2001

The mission system got a huge work over in 130. There is a whole new paradigm for mission scoring and it is much more dynamic. Defensive and offensive missions are scored on the following data:

1)Kills or damage credits. Each vehicle you destroy adds a kill to your tally, and also adds that vehicle’s value to your score. Vehicles you damage get added as well, but not their value, just a tally.

2)Facility health. The facility you are attacking or defending is checked when you spawn, and then again when you de-spawn, and the difference is used to determine if that facility has been either damaged or re-built. If you are on an attack mission, you’ll need to help damage the facility that is specified as you target to insure that it has been hit, and thus get you a higher mission score. And conversely on defense, you’ll want to prevent the facility you are defending from getting hit for your best score.

3)RTB codes. If you RTB or are Rescued, you’ll score higher than if you are KIA or MIA.

4)Finally, Mission Priority has a large effect. Lower priority missions pay lower final score than higher priority missions. But if you fail on getting a positive kill value, and do not alter your target’s “health”, no priority will save you from a poor outcome.

All these factors add up to your overall mission performance. Do well at all of them and you will score higher and gain rank quicker. As you gain rank you’ll be able to get the rarer vehicles as well as be able to post missions yourself, low priority at first, then medium and high as you gain experience. Do poorly in one aspect regularly, and you will have a hard time getting the points you need to move up the ladder. Bottom line….kill other players, hit or defend your target, and get your gear home soldier!!

ABOUT THE SCORING PAGES : The new scoring pages will display your stats in the game. Your current score and rank will be displayed for each of your personas, as well as your Mission Effectiveness, Mission Kills, Combat Ratings and Vehicle Performance Data. RANK SYSTEM

Rank Explained

Since we have received a fairly large number of questions regarding rank advancement, posting points and all of the privileges We figured it'd be good to clear some of these questions up. There are a few type of points that we keep track of. We'll discuss mission points, rank points and mission posting points. In version 1.25 we have a simplified system that makes a completed mission equal one rank point. In the future we'll be making changes to the mission scoring and that point values will change.

Mission points are the points you garner during the course of a mission. Once you end a mission either by returning to base (RTB) or leaving in the field, your mission is scored. This score then impacts your rank points. The mission score can be either a positive or negative number. If you go on a mission, succeed at the objective and RTB, you will get points for a successful mission. If you go out and die without achieving any objective or damaging/killing any enemy, the mission score may be a negative number and have an adverse impact on your rank points. Completing missions and objective is how you stay in the positive numbers.

Rank points are the accumulated points that you need to advance to the next rank. Once you have accumulated enough rank points you can advance to the next rank. When you advance, all of you accumulated points are wiped out and you start fresh. This is to prevent a player from "saving" his rank points and going from Private to General in one fell swoop. Right now promotion is automatic. In the future you will have the option to wait before accepting a promotions. As you advance in rank you will gain some privileges and lose others so be careful when accepting promotions.

Mission posting points are the points that you have available to post missions. These points tell you how much you have to "spend" at the mission posting screen. As you advance in rank your point pool increases. Each different priority mission requires a different number of points to post. A low priority mission costs only 1 point whereas a medium priority mission might be 3 and a high priority mission 5.

Eggman's Observations:

If you control one AB in a multi AB CP, you can RTB to that AB and still get the rank points. You will however have to respawn at the Forward Base leading into that town. If you get a Mission result ANYTHING other than "Mission Failure" or "Mission Success" it means you were NOT on a mission. If you are getting "KIA" "MIA" "Rescued" or the like, you were not on a mission. A common mistake: When you respawn and hit the GO button, you are not selecting a mission - even if you were on a mission before. You have to hit the SELECT button and select a mission, even if it is the same mission as you were just on. Auto Generated missions DO count for Rank points. It does NOT have to be a Player generated mission to gain Rank. There is currently no auto generated missions for Naval or Air. It is expected that these will be added before 1.30, possibly the week of September 17. Rank rewards are unique per country and per branch of service. Currently there is British, French and German countries. The branches of service are Army, Air Force and Navy. So rank gained as a French SMG is different than rank gained as a British SMG, because they are from two different countries. Rank gained as a German Tanker is the same as rank gained as a German Infantry because they are both in the Army. Rank gained as a French Pilot is different than rank gained as a French Boat captain, agian because they are different branches of service.

If ANY of the crew members in a multi crew capable or multi crew position vehicle die this will result in a Mission Failure. ALL Crew Members need to be alive when you RTB to get Mission Success.
