TANK KILLING

TANK KILLING MADE EASY!

Char Leger Modele 1935-R

Hit the Char with an AP round right where the gun meets the turret and u will disable the gun, both on main gun and the front gun. This has been tested in battle at CLOSE range. Only try this under 100m. and always go 4 the guns first, then leave. The tank will be no threat after that, don't waist any more time or ammo on it.

Fact #1: The Char has 60mm of frontal armor, which is nearly impenetrable to the 37mm gun on Panzer tanks of 1940.
Fact #2: The Char is very slow. A Panzer tank can easily outrun it.
Fact #3: The Char has numerous weak points: radiator grill, turret hatch, driver's slit, etc.

LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE VIEWS

REAR VIEW (Hatch open and closed)

Note that the turret hatch doesn't need to be open, I just showed it opening so you can see how big it is.

Stop complaining that the Char is too powerful. Against a skilled tanker, a Char is just a big fat target, waiting to die.
Remember the concept of the Bismark: "Out-shoot anything you can't out-run."

Tactics for killing a Char with Infantry :

-get close. can't aim very well from afaar, and you need good aim to do the following:
-use an SMG on the radiator grill. 2-3 cclips in the right spot on the grill can get the engine spewing white smoke, effectively overheating the engine and stranding the Char. if you kneel, the gunner can't see you if he spins the turret around.
-use an SMG or rifle on the driver's sliit, if it's open, killing the driver, possibly wounding the gunner, and maybe even hitting the engine or ammo.
-use an SMG or rifle on the hatch on thee rear of the Char's turret.
-team up to distract the Char while one guy runs up to shoot the weak points. otherwise it might notice you and blast you with it's MG.

Killing a Char with Panzers:

-flank him. the panzer is no match for tthe Char's 47mm main gun. or (once it's fixed), the 75mm howitzer. work in teams to keep the char swinging his turret around at one of you while the other get's behind him.
-aim for the weak spots. the Char can bee taken out by a single shot to the radiator grill. white smoke means you damaged the engine, black means you killed the engine, sometimes I've even got a burner from a radiator shot.
-aim for the rear of the turret. a well placed shot can kill the gunner, or cook off the ammo, killing everyone inside.
-aim for the spot just above the treads.. I've burned a few Chars this way.
-if you're gunner's dead, and you feel ssuicidal, you can get in close and use your MG on his grill, and sometimes even the driver's slit, if he's left it open.
-Even with the driver's slit closed, an AP round will still penetrate the thin armor covering, killing the driver, and possibly damaging anything behind him, such as engine, or light off his ammo. The viewslit cover is only effective defense against small arms fire: rifle/SMG/MG.
-An HE shot through an open slit can expplode the shell INSIDE the Char, effectively shredding everything inside.

Taking out Chars with the Flak 36 AKA the '88'

-while it's true the 88 can easily punctture the Char's armor, even frontal, there is still one condition to killing a char with an 88: hitting something vital.
-driver is on left side (from char's poiint of view)
-gunner is in turret
-engine is in rear
-so it is possible to take out a Char wiith one shot with an 88, I've done it plenty myself, but you must hit something vital. if you don't, the Char will just keep on chugging along.
-best possible thing to do is get set upp in trees, and don't fire until the Char is facing perpendicular to you. that way the shot comes through the side armor, is more likely to hit something vital, and as a bonus: he never sees the muzzle flash, and so has no idea where the shot came from to warn his buddies.

Taking out a Char from the air:

The rear of the Char and back of the turret are vulnerable to an Me109's guns. And the Char is such a big target it's hard to miss!

Mark IV - A13, British Tank

Killing an A13 is relatively easy with a Panzer III or AT gun. Here are some Instructional pictures of where to shoot an A13.
