Acorn
Though born in the late 1960s in San Francisco, Bob was no flower child. His parents, John and Marilyn, lived in SF not for the hippy scene but because it was/is such a cool city! In any event, by 1970, Bob had a little sister -- Beth, and the family moved to bigger digs in Tiburon.
By 1978, his folk's marriage (like many others in Marin) was on the rocks. Fortunately, the divorce was amicable, and Bob found that he didn't mind the new set-up. A few years later, his dad remarried and Bob got a fantastic step-mom in Karen as well as two new siblings, Elise and Chris.
Meanwhile, Bob was getting into physics and lacrosse as a student at high-faluting University High School. Four years later, after picking up a BA in History from Berkeley, Bob moved to Washington DC to work on "The Hill."
While in DC, he got into the energy/environment field, picked up a M.A. from SAIS in international relations, and met and married Christine. In '98, the two-some decamped to Africa where Bob works for IIEC and Christine is busy raising Sam.
Bob's father died in 1998; his mother founded and runs a most excellent non-profit, Trips for Kids; and his sister is calling her own shots as the sole proprietor of Body by Beth.
