Feburary 5th

January 8th

The next monthly club meeting will be held on January 8, 2002, at El Chico's on I-35E and Valwood Pkwy. at 7:00 PM. as usual. In addition, a mini-Search Committee meeting will be held at the same time.

Agenda/Old Business: Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

The Financial Statement was read by Richard Hose and approved by those present.

Discussion led to having the Search Committee meeting being conducted simultaneously with the IRFCA Club meeting. Agreed to by everyone present.

Motion: Re-instate March 31 as the cutoff date for membership renewal. Passed by unanimous vote. New Members can join at any time. Discussion concerning a Membership Drive received a round of approval and action will follow.

Motion: Re-instate the Membership Card. Passed by unanimous vote. Ron Adams & Ken Knox are spearheading the project. Cards will be issued to all current members.

Motion: Lower Membership dues to $10.00 a year. Current Members would automatically be carried for two years. A Club vote will be held at the next meeting.

Search Committee business: The Waste Management site has been put on hold for the next 6 months at the request of the Regional Director Rick Losa. They are presently in negotiation with the City of Lewisville regarding other projects and don't want to confuse their issues. The Pier 121 site is not a viable site. The owners of the land have other projects in mind for the site, and they do not want the associated noise pollution problem to deal with. The Irving waste site is still viable and waiting on Franklin Weathers, Richard Hose, and Larry Cox to continue with their efforts now the Holiday Season has concluded.

Members in attendance included Ron Adams, Larry Cox, Richard Hose, Jack McGeough (Officers), Ken Knox, Murrey Carver and Wife.

The next meeting will be held Feb. 05, 02, at El Chico's on I-35 @ Valwood Pkwy., North Bound Service road north of Valwood Rd., Farmers Branch, TX., at 7:00p.m.

December 4th

The next meeting of the Irving RC Flyers Association will be held at the El Chico at 1725 IH-35 in Carrollton (from northbound 35, exit Valwood, on the northbound service road) on Tuesday December 4th with dinner at 6:00pm.

Location: El Chicos on 35E at Valwood, Carrollton, TX.

Agenda/Old Business:

The meeting opened without the reading of the minutes from the November meeting. The meeting followed the traditional December meeting in which the new Officers are voted into office for the next year. The current Treasurer, Bill Little, provided the financials. The votes were counted. The results are as follows:

Ron Adams, President 12 votes
Larry Cox, Vice President 12 votes
Richard Hose, Treasurer 10 votes
Jack McGeough, Secretary 12 votes

Roy Appleton volunteered to remain the Webmaster to the relief and appreciation of everyone. It was suggested that Roy be given a free membership for the year 2002 for his hard work and dedication. This is an item that will have to be voted on, but most are in agreement that this is a good thing.

Out of 26 Ballots mailed out to all current members, only 12 replied.

Members in attendance at the meeting/election: Ron Adams, Tom Coe, Larry Cox, Leif Erickson, Richard Hose, Bill Little, Bob Locke, Jack McGeough, Frank Taylor, and Ken Knox (a new member).

All the outgoing board members received the thanks and admiration of everyone.

Notices:

All members must fill out and submit a membership application with a copy of 2002 AMA membership card to participate in Club activities and/or have voting privileges.

Note: The Search Committee meeting for December and is CANCELED due to prior commitments of its' members.

November 6th

The next meeting of the Irving RC Flyers Association will be held at the El Chico at 1725 IH-35 in Carrollton (from northbound 35, exit Valwood, on the northbound service road) on Tuesday November 6th with dinner at 6:00pm and the meeting starting at 7:00pm.

Agenda/Old Business: Search Committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month at El Chico's on I-35 @ Valwood Pkwy., North Bound Service road north of Valwood Rd., Farmers Branch, TX., at 7:00p.m. All club members are welcome, as is anyone else who can be of help in the search. Search locations under consideration are Irving, Flower Mound, and 121 Pier area of Lewisville Lake. Frank Taylor reported he will soon make a presentation to the Lewisville City Council regarding the Waist Management site. Frank feels the "Low Profile" approach is working, and that some of the five Council Members are in favor of the site.

Voting Ballots will be mailed out to current members for Board of Directors election. Vote will be officially counted at the next monthly meeting, December 4, 2001, same place as always. Ballot will read:

Larry Cox, Vice-President
Richard Hose, Treasurer
Jack McGeough, Secretary

Additional lines will be added next to each position for "write-in" votes. A stamped and addressed envelope will accompany each ballot to help get the ballots back to the Secretary.

Also, the Board of Directors request that all Club Members attend the December Meeting that we might all get together for a little camaraderie in the Christmas Spirit.

Announcement: The IRCFA Search Committee meets the second Tuesday every month at El Chicos on the Northbound service road at Valwood Pkwy. and I-35E. Meetings start at 7:00 P.M. sharp. All Club Members are welcome to attend.

October 2th

The next meeting of the Irving RC Flyers Association will be held at the El Chico at 1725 IH-35 in Carrollton (from northbound 35, exit Valwood, on the northbound service road) on Tuesday October 2th with dinner at 6:00pm and the meeting starting at 7:00pm. This meeting's agenda will be very important and will include nomination of 2002 officers.

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM with 6 members and 2 guests in attendance.

Agenda/Old Business:

In the absence of the Secretary Tom Coe reviewed the previous meeting minutes. Bill Little requested that the minutes be amended to reflect that Jack McGeough was to secure the PO Box for the association. Minutes were then approved. Report on status of Lewisville field from Frank Taylor was that progress was being made and it appeared that the scaled down version of the field plan had a good chance of gaining the needed waivers from City Council. Frank & Company is putting a presentation together and will present to the Lewisville City Council in the near future.

Discussion of status of official address for the IRCFA was continued. It will be necessary to have this address in place prior to printing the ballot for upcoming elections. Jack McGeough to address.

New Business/Action Items/Motions:

Richard Hose felt that the officers should be paying dues. This is contrary to the By-laws of the IRCFA. Issue was put aside as all felt that it was the least of the Associations problems.

At the request of Jack McGeough, Tom Coe requested that the Field Acquisition Committee (FAC) meet on Thursday October 11, 2001 at the Local Diner. Jack will e-mail members address and details.

September 4th

Agenda/Old Business:

Tom Coe gave an update on the new field status. Tom & Bill Little are scheduled to meet with the Lewisville City Manager, and City Engineer to assess waivers on City building requirements.

New Business/Action Items/Motions:

Tom Coe asked for volunteers to create a committee to contact local City Parks Departments, etc. to determine if a potential exist to develop a flying site in their locations. The Committee would also look into securing a commercial real estate company to find a suitable site. Volunteers for the search are as follows: Jack McGeough, Bill Little, Ron Adams, Richard Hose, Murray Carver, and Greg Pulcini volunteered additional help as time allows.

Jack McGeough gathered information for establishing a new mailing address (post office box). The annual cost is $109.00 for a box in very close proximity to Bill Little, Treasurer, and Jack McGeough, Secretary. Richard Hose commented that a P.O. Box with the U.S. Post Office could be had for approx. $80.00. The information was passed on the Bill Little who will establish a new "Permanent IRCFA Address."

Contact information was collected on all IRCFA Officers. This information, or portion thereof, will be made "confidentially" available to all club members at the individual discretion of each Club Officer.

Richard Hose suggested that everyone in the Club should be able to contact any Club Officer at will. The Club Officers suggested to Richard that publishing of private and/or personal information is a violation of State and Federal Law.

Motions:

Richard Hose made a motion to suspend Club Dues until the Club could provide a actual flying site. No second to the motion was made. Motion was set aside.

Other: Richard Hose asked how the A.M.A. dues were paid. Bill Little stated that Bob Lock paid the dues out of pocket and that the Club had not yet reimbursed Bob at that time.

August 4th

The next meeting of the Irving RC Flyers Association will be held at the El Chico at 1725 IH-35 in Carrollton (from northbound 35, exit Valwood, on the northbound service road) on Saturday August 4th with dinner at 6:00pm and the meeting starting at 7:00pm.
