Genealogies seem to be never ending in the Scriptures, but it actually ended with the birth of the Messiah. When solving genealogical perplexities, we must remember the following. (1) The ancient writers were never really constrained to be exhaustive in their list so when they skip a generation or two this does not invalidate their genealogy. (2) The terms son and daughters have more than one meaning in the ancient Hebrew or English language. For example, a son could be referring to the son-in-law or the grandson. Not all of the following questions here are really genealogical perplexities there are questions here that can be answered by simply correcting the interpretation. Never the less, we included them here because it is in their “genealogical” contents that the skeptics got confused. Lastly, we must also remember, like in the alleged numerical discrepancies, most genealogical perplexities do not affect important Christian doctrines like Salvation, attributes of God, etc.
