Appearance Attire
Marcus is a medium height, well built young man. With green eyes which can sometimes change to a greyish-blue colour, either way the look in his eyes can usually be described as sardonic, cold or lifeless. A bright blonde set of short hair is found atop his head always groomed well. Marcus has returned to the ring with a slightly thinner frame than before, and the look on his face is usually that of profound sadness, or simply expressionless. As soon as the opening drone of Incubus' Pardon Me has finished and the song breaks out a bit more Marcus comes walking nonchalantly down the aisleway decked out in black silk pants and no shirt. He wastes no time entering the ring, he usually wants to cut to the chase pretty quickly.
History Profile
Marcus Gaines' childhood was nothing out of the ordinary. He grew up in a fairly well to do household where possessions were never NOT in abundance. He had an average scholastic life save for his unending temper. He once managed to leave a kid severely handicapped after a simple argument over the use of a swing on the playground at recess. After such incidents Marcus's family decided he should be evaluated by a psychiatrist, as suspected the psychologist discovered mental imbalances, leading to deep-seeded schizophrenia. After being prescribed with drugs all was thought well, however Marcus's behaviour continued on like this unabated. It was soon realized that it was just too unsafe for him to be around others while not udner careful supervision. And so much of his life was spent trying to cure him. It is now decided that marcus can't be cured... so the new theory is: "if you can't take the dog out of the fight... take the fight out of the dog" so to speak. The t! herapy is wrestling, the venue is any wrestling ring or arena where marcus can be. However unorthodox the idea is, it saves marcus from hurting average "joe schmoes". Marcus, much to the chagrin of his therapist, family and jsut about anyone else familiar with him, was allowed to learn various forms of martial arts, such as Jeet-kune-do, tai kwan do, jiu jitsu... I could carry on ad nauseum but suffice to say he is equipped with many fighting tools.

After a prolonged absence from the GWA where the government, GWA officials, not even his closest relatives knew where he went, he returns to a life left untouched, and therefore unruined for so many months. Where did he go? Who did he encounter along the way? What kept him wherever he was for so long? What sort of impact will all this have on a career Marcus took only semi-seriously before he left? The answers to these questions and more coming soon...

Despite Marcus'obvious mental problems he isn't a complete lunatic much like the psychiatrists etc. would have you believe. At first glance of Marcus on the street you wouldn't expect him to be capable of what he actually is. Marcus has changed a lot since fans of the GWA last saw him. Gone is the joking, smug Marcus Gaines who jabbed at his opponents with sometimes whitty remarks, and other times just plain bizarre comments. Something happened to Marcus over the course of his absence from the world in general. He lost something, or perhaps gained a new perspective on things. Marcus barely smiles, rarely feigns even a smirk on his otherwise charcter-filled face. Something has obviously penetrated to the very fibre of this man's being.

Corrosion - A Simple Death Valley Driver performed quickly and rapidly, sometimes in a rapid succession, repeating the move more than once basically, as Marcus sees fit.

Smoking Gun - As the opponent stands dazed, Marcus stands in front of him for a moment in what could simply be described as a disply of utter disdain for his opponent. Then Rapidly, Marcus fires swift kicks first to the knee, then to the waist (or sometimes groin), then the stomach, then chest, then chin, then nasal region. The move is extremely fast, and when executed flawlessly is almost a complete blur.

Dead and Buried - Marcus stands next to and facing the same direction as his opponent. He quickly slides his arm around his victim's neck, And in a quick motion trips the opponent's legs out from beneath him slamming his face down hard on the mat. Often a setup to the Scorched Earth, mainly due to the similarity of the move.

Final Flight - A simple setup of the opponent on the top turnbuckle, facing the crowd. Marcus climbs up behind the victim, applies a hold, and proceeds to spin the victim around so as to perform a powerbomb from the top rope.

Novacaine for the Soul - Basically a more artistic, and finessed variation to the Fame-asser. Usually, this move is spurred on by Marcus dodging an opponent's punch, kick, grab or what have you, by leaping high into the air, and spinning away from the opponent. As Marcus spins in mid-air, his knee positions behind the victim's head, and the momentum from the leap, forces the opponent's head down hard on the mat, like so many manoeuvres Marcus has perfected.

Scorched Earth

The scorched earth is slight variation of Booker T's scissor kick maneouvre. However the victim is usually in a completely upright posture as Gaines delivers a high sidekick to the victims chin, knocking the opponent's head back, immediately after contact, Marcus postions his foot behind the victims head ensuring that his heel is hooked onto the back of the opponent's head. And in a quick motion Gaines brings his other foot around the victim's legs providing momentum as Gaines' other leg is brought downards with the person's head which quickly makes contact with the mat. Due to the severity of the impact its safe to say a broken bone here or there isn't unheard of.
