There aren't many rules about creating characters for this game. You
can use published characters (that aren't already taken, of course), or
create your own. Most of the players in the game have a combination of both.
If a published character you want is already taken, don't moan and
groan about it. Create your own character. Ultimately, using your own
character, developing it as you see fit, and watching it grow right before
your eyes, is a rewarding thing.
The only rule concerning characters is really this: if you use a
published Forgotten Realms character, I ask that you play that character
accurately. Drizzt Do'Urden is a saintly, honorable, highly moral and ethical
character. A player that has him messing around at a whorehouse is NOT
playing him accurately. Indeed, such a thing would be deeply sacrilegious
to all of us rabid Drizzt and Salvatore fans. I warn you that so grossly
mis-playing a beloved character will earn you much hate-mail, flames, and
death threats from that character's fans. (I'm kidding. Well... probably not.
You know how some fanatics are...)
If you mis-play a character, I'll give you a few warnings. If you
continue mis-playing that character, I'll ask you to give that character up.
Why? Well, because those are published characters that we all know and love.
We like to keep them as they caught our fancy. If you want something
different, then make up your own character! That is ultimately more fun
anyway!

profile sheets. The names in parenthesis are the writers that created them
(or made them famous).
