Simple. The Blooding uses a list server that players
subscribe to (for free, of course). As members, players can post messages to the list, which
are received as emails by everyone on the list (including the author of the message).
PBEMs are a text-based game, and the Blooding has no special rules, as an RPG goes. You
create a character, bring it into the current game by posting a message, and from then on you
react to what others post, and others react to what you post.
Players new to a PBEM would be wise to first 'Lurk' on the list. That is,
subscribe to the list, but not start playing immediately. Instead, read the messages posted by
the 'veteran' players, and get a feel for how the game is played. That's the best way to learn.
The Blooding is set in the AD&D RPG world the Forgotten Realms. Again,
Lurking helps to get familiar with a world that you aren't familiar with. Events take place in
both the Underdark and anywhere on the surface of Toril, so the game isn't limited to this or
that locale.
How To Join The Game:
First things first... you have to join the list. The
Blooding uses
Once you're a member, you'll receive the usual welcome emails from the list owner, and
more than likely you'll start receiving emails from the game almost immediately. As noted above,
it is best that you Lurk on the list for a while to get a feel for what's going on.A summary of
