May 15, 2001:
Ahhh!  The end of my freshman year of college!  It has been a great year with its many ups and downs.  I have learned much more than I planned on learning this year.  I have learned, for instance, that sticky-tack will not adhere to all surfaces.  I have also learned that no matter how smart you think you are, there's always someone smarter, so you might as well be that person's friend so you can get a mention in his/her memoires.  I have learned that if you choose to disagree with the majority, you better damn well have a good argument to back up your position.  I have learned that just because you have a T1 connection to the internet, that does not guarantee that it will ALWAYS be up.  Smoke bombs going off in the stairwell are bad.  Thirty blank CD's for 18 bucks from Wal Mart is a steal.  Plugging a TV, a refridgerator, a Playstation, an N64, a Super Nintendo, a fan, and a pencil sharpener into the same outlet is bad for one's alotted supply of electrical power.  Baldur's Gate II is the greatest.  Girls make even less sense in college than they do in highschool.  It IS possible to read a 400 page book in two days while you have other things to do.  Personal decisions should be make by you, not someone else.
It was a great year, and I'm eagerly looking forward to next year.  More immediately, though, I'm looking forward to the trip to Florida that some fellow Honors students and I have planned for the weekend after classes end.  I do sincerely hope that the trip will come together, because it should prove to be an exciting and interesting trip.  Besides, I don't want to spend EVERY minute of the next three months at home!
