What Did You Just Say?? | ||||||||||
This is the very zenith of boredom. In this section, which is a work in progress, I will try to define some common terms that I use. My friends and I have, over time, coined so many words that we almost have our own language. This will clue you in to some of the more common ones. | ||||||||||

1. Stupid - (stoo pid) this is a big one, and is probably the word I use the most. My definition of stupid is not quite what you think. Stupid consists of people who are so grossly incompetent that they don't even know what day of the week it is on a regular basis. This includes, but is by no means limited to, people who appear on Jerry Springer, people who miss the first question on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", and people who cannot correctly answer simple questions like "Who was the first president of the United States?". Stupid also depends upon age, as children are not likely to know things that adults should be expected to know. 2. Frosty Sweetness - (fros tee sweet ness) something that is so damn cool that it rivals even the most sugar-coated breakfast cereal. 3. The Network - (the net werk) refers to any college LAN network, but most specifically, the Caruthers Residence Hall LAN. Anything you need can be found on The Network, from serial numbers to full version games to mp3's and even porno (for those of you with little social contact). 4. Low Ping Bastard - (lo ping bass tard) a person with an extremely fast (cable, T1, or DSL) connection to the internet that is able to defeat opponents easily in online games because of his lack of lag. 5. Mudding - (mud ding) playing in a MUD (Multi User Dimension). A MUD is similar to a chat room, except it acts more like a text-based game. 6. ...like/as a sailor - (like/as a say lor) denotes an extremity, such as, "I'm hungry as a sailor" and "I'm gonna beat you like a sailor". The phrase does not have to refer to something a sailor would actually do (kudos to Chris for that one!) 7. Kudos - (koo dohs) congratulations 8. Goddamn/Goddammit - (goddam/goddammit) should be read/interpreted as "God Damn" or "God Damn It", though I tend to turn the phrase into one word at times. 9. Darwinism! - (dar win isim) an exclamation said when I hear of something stupid that resulted/could result in the death of the person committing the act of stupidity. Such scenes can be seen at The Darwin Awards. 10. Oh Evolve! - (o, e volv) an exclamation commonly used after someone says or does something stupid. 11. What the Hell!?! - (waht the hell) phrase used for mild surprise or consternation. 12. Frag - (frag) to kill someone in a multiplayer video game such as Counterstrike or Perfect Dark. 13. Raped - refers to something that has been corrupted or changed in a bad way, such as "They raped the hell out of a damn good book when they made that unholy hell-spawn of a movie." 14. Newbie - (nu bee) a new player in a video game. Used in a derogatory fashion. 15. Strafer - (stray fer) a person who sidesteps left and right while firing continuously, but not moving forward. Used in a derogatory fashion, because such a move is impossible in reality. 16. The Motherland - (the muther land) Russia. Used frequetly by me while playing Counterstike as a terrorist. 17. UO - abbreviation for Ultima Online. 18. UO T2A - abbreviation for Ultima Online: The Second Age. 19. UOTD - abbreviation for Ultima Online: Third Dawn. 20. AoE - abbreviation for Age of Empires II. 21. BG2 - abbreviation for Baldur's Gate II. 22. PD - abbreviation for Perfect Dark. 23. CS - abbreviation for Counterstrike. 24. CT - abbreviation for Counter Terrorist, one of the teams in Counterstrike. 25. PVK - abbreviation for Pirates, Vikings, and Knights 26. HL - abbreviation for Half Life 27. DK2 - abbreviation for Dungeon Keeper II 28. FF - abbreviation for Final Fantasy; followed by a number to denote which Final Fantasy. |
