Sparks of the Night
The mortal coil has turned once more
and Pluto's minions knock at the door
The light has gone beyond the hills;
The night has come with all its chills.
A shadow falls across the eyes
As Luna, her nightly voyage flies,
But far into the Plutonian blight
Man can see a glimmer of light.
A glimmering promise that day will return.
The lamps of night, in the sky burn,
Shining like diamonds in a dark sea
Causing the demons of night to flee.
O, the stars hung in the sky
Watch the moon's night-voyage fly,
Watch o'er Man, slumb'ring below
Until daylight o'er the horizon flow.
