The Best Embrace
written by Bill

The road in life seems long and twisting
Like bracing against a bitter North wind
We face yet more stress, strife, and continuing journeys
That search to find home, that inner peace again

To find where faith, love, and that lost joy is
To find where so many of those positive feelings have gone
To escape that trap that befalls so many in today's world
To break the glass walls and experience a day's new dawn

If we take out boats, sailing far out to sea
Set our sails, riding through that bitter North wind
Spread our wings, looking up to the open blue sky
The answers are there, making the world our best friend

Love is kind, it keeps us tender and warm
But darkness of life befalls us, too often comes around
Takes us far below to a place where we can hardly see,
hear, or even utter barely a sound

To take positive matters back into our overwhelmed hearts
To take our spirits to higher levels, to let light in to pace our needed soul searching starts
To look within ourselves, to realize what's always been there
To look through personal freedoms, to find peace, love, joy, and happiness,
That light to break the glass walls so we can be aware

Taking our boats, sailing from negative harbors far out into that open sweeping sea
Setting our sails, breezing through that now bitterless North wind
Spreading our wings, flying up and beyond into that clear blue sky
The best embrace is there, making the world and all that's within it our best friend
