If you are coming from the North of
Loughborough come in along the A6. Before the town centre, on the
right you will see a KFC and Sainsbury's. You will then come to a set of traffic
lights with a 'Drive in Laundry' on your left across the lights on the
corner. You need to turn left at this junction (B589 Toothill Road),
before the laundry. Then, go up
to the next set of lights and turn right into Fennel street. The Brush
club is then on the left.
If you are coming from the South of Loughborough come up the A6
through the town centre. This time Sainsbury's will be on left. Look for a
'Drive in Laundry' on the right next to a set of traffic lights, you
need to turn right here (B589 Toothill Road), go up to the next set of
lights and turn right into Fennel Street. The Brush club is then on the
left.
If you are coming from the west of Loughborough (from junction 23
M1). Head straight into Loughborough until you pass Sainsbury's on the
left. There is a set of traffic lights here, turn left and go down a
narrow street and you come out on the A6. Turn left and then right at the next
set by the 'Drive in Laundry'.
Once on Fennel Street the Brush is approx 200m on the left. If you have
any bits and bobs to unload, let us know and we will assist. To park, carry
on past the Brush and take the next two lefts so your are in Steeple Row
with the church on the right. There is parking along here. Following this
road along will bring you out just past the previous set of traffic lights
where you turned into Fennel Street.
The room we use will be the Yeoman Room on the
first floor. As you walk in the front door there are a set of steps going
up in front of you slightly off to the right, go up these and around to
the left. There is a door across a corner in front and to the right of
you, we are in here, the door will be open and signs will be up. The bar
is on the ground floor just by the stairs, the beer is cheap and
quite good.
The meetings will be 19:15 for an 19:30 start (7:14 for 7:30
in old money) this gives you time to settle and blow the froth off your beer.
Finish time will vary depending on the speaker and interest shown, we have
the room till kicking out time so stay and chat.
Parking. There is no parking directly at the Brush Social Club, but
plenty of space in the streets around the back, Steeple Row and around the
church. The new shopping centre has opened 'The Rushes' this backs on to
Fennel Street and there is parking there, but I believe it is pay and
display till late.
