The clean, white snow at the Clyde River Retreat is a welcome contrast to the dirty snow banks that accumulate in the city, and it provides the perfect setting for lots of winter fun. The trails that meander through the woods are excellent for cross-country skiing within a beautiful sheltered environment. For the downhill skier, Calabogie Peaks and Mount Pakenham are just a short distance away. And for children (or the child in you) there's plenty of snow for romping and playing - snowshoeing, snowball fights or building a snowman. The huge woodpile provides more than enough fuel to keep the fires burning in the wood stove and fireplace where you can bask in their warmth after enjoying an invigorating winter's day.
