There's a time for everyone . . .
The Rules
.) Respect the owners, their helpers and your fellow member! This means absolutely no off fighting, it will get you banned.
.) This is an intermediate to advanced game. We usually allow any level of wording skills (afterall, it's rather odd to call an elephant cow a bruja isn't it?). But we like the posts long and with at least 50 words, but usually around 70 or so.
.) Obviously being based from a Disney movie, the rules of realism to not completely exist here. Talking is allowed. Mythical creatures and magic are not. Freindships and such between species is as allowed, odvessly - but remember, you still need to eat!
.) You may NOT join as an actual character, or their descendents from the movies! Unless you have very special permission granted by both of the owners.
.) In the tradition in our favorite Disney movie, we realize that TLK is not just about the lions (and hyenas as is in our game). Other animals, such as meerkat and hornbills are just as important to the story. Therefore, this is not just strictly lions and hyenas - all African animals are welcome here. However, as it is mostly for lions and hyenas there are guidelines. You are allowed to play one other animal as long as it is a group animal (zebras, hippos, etc), but to play two+ or someone from a loner species you must play at least one active lion or hyena(cheetahs, rhinos, etc). Play each species according to their natural behaviors! Elephant bulls cannot lead a herd of females, a leopard cannot start a pride, ext. Do some research if you don't know much information because we will be watching!
.) All lions live in the Pridelands, all hyenas (and only them) go to the Outlands. Other carnivores (like painted dogs) may claim territories. Two separate species (cheetah & leopard for example) may share a territory although they would be enemies and competitors - so not exactly freinds. All herbivores roam freely from land to land in herds and as they please. To clarify something up - lions cannot claim individual territories, as the Pridelands is one big territory that the lions live at. The different territories are broken down for animals of other prediator species (leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, ext).
.) Ya'll know the roleplaying edict rules. Powerplaying, godmoding and so on and so forth is not tolerated here. Don't even think about it! Minimum swearing and your characters can die.
.) Everything must prey another to live; it's the Circle of Life after all! If a played gazelle galloping across the plain, a cheetah has every right to go try to ripe him a new one. With the outlaw on powerplaying, this gives the prey animal a good chance of getting away - so remember that! However, we prefer most prey you take is NPC.
.) No humans! Yes, we are aware that Africa is one of the most human populated continents in the world. Yet, there are no humans mentioned in any TLK movie - therefor, humans or any mention of them, is not welcome here.
.) Each species(with the exception of lions & hyenas) are ruled over by a lord and lady who in turn answer to the lion king. Usually, the first one to join with a species becomes the lord/lady but this position can be challanged for. Conserning prey animals, it is not wise to eat the lord and lady! The hyenas are simply ruled over by their single matriarch.
.) You may challenge for a position, mate, territory - all of those good things that we all know and want so badly. You may rp the battles, but the end result is always chosen by a roll of the dice. A basic challenge is evens for challanged; odds for challenger. You may go ahead and challenge the Lion King and the Hyena Matriarch all you wish, but you will loose! Lord and Ladyship of a species may also be challenged for, but they are far more harder to win as they get 4 numbers on the dice.
.) You may only breed with your mate; unless otherwise stated by that particular species. You may only breed during the dry season (so that your offspring will be born during the wet season)- while not completely accurate to all the numerous numbers of animals, it is easier on us! Forcebreeding is not allowed.
.) Young are born the following wet season that they are conceived. The stats are chosen by us, to insure that everything stays well rounded. The number of offspring depends on your species really. Not all are born healthy and or living!
.) Every 2 months is one game year. This year is separated into 2 seasons; wet season & dry season which each last for one month. Your character ages one year every two months; as a given.
.) Remember the password 'Nqoba.'
