New Lasers of the BDF
By: Linwood Foster

In 104 P.A. a group of adventurers recovered a massive load of weapons-grade artificial diamonds from a Digger mining robot. While the sale of more than 22 tons of diamonds crashed the diamond market in Baltimore, it did present a unique opportunity for the Commonwealth. While some of the diamond slates were earmarked for the construction of mono-swords, the rest were later purchased for laser research. When massive quantities of Coalition laser weaponry began appearing on the weapons market following Emperor Prosek's "Crusade for Humanity" speech and the rearming of the Coalition Army in 105 P.A., Baltimore found a use for the artificial diamonds. After purchasing more than 800,000 units of laser pistols and rifles on the Black Market, Baltimore began refitting the crystal laser cores with higher quality diamond laser cores. The new diamond laser cores allow the Coalition lasers to fire at longer ranges, do more damage, and fire full bursts without overheating and melting the lasers. Due to improved energy usage, the lasers are also a bit more energy efficient.

B-14 Assault Laser Rifle (Previously C-14)
The B-14 is the only significantly changed Coalition weapon. Instead of having the built-in grenade launcher; the B-14 has a built-in Pump Rifle, much the same as the Triax TX-16 Pump Rifle. This weapon was deemed more effective than a grenade launcher against those opponents that are immune to energy weapons. It uses the same round as the TX-16 with a blast radius of 1 foot.

Mega-Damage: Laser is 4D6 MD; Pump Round is 4D6 MD.
Rate of Fire: Aimed or all burst modes (short, long, or extended) for the laser. Aimed or wild for the Pump Rifle.
