Oh My God! Why is there an entire PAGE dedicated to Beowulf?! To put it simply, I just don't hate him like other people do. *heh heh time to rant* Beowulf is just like an ordinary knight trying to live as a mercenary. Many people hate him for his "distasteful characteristics" and others just hate him because they hold the illusion that he, as a unit, is weak and really quite pathetic. Beowulf as a character, is very hard to judge. I have only seen around 3 conversations for him. This is too few for a person to be accuratly judged as a character, however, in those few, Beowulf displayed a clear personality...(unfortuantly for the BeoDefenders). Many of his actions can be explained with possible reasons that cannot be proved inside the game, but this is also where the opposition stands as well. Materialistic, greedy, lier, deciever, and etc are all words that are used to describe Beowulf. For a person who doesn't know when his next meal is coming, he doesn't seem that matieralistic and greedy. He is a mercenary. These people do not have a constant stream of work, especially in peace time. How he lied to Laches... I do not think so. His first conversation with Laches.. I find it difficult to talk to girls. It is so hard, constantly frantic and desparate not to let the conversation die. I find it almost true for Beowulf. He is afterall, a Mercenary... and she is.. a princess of Nodion... Being in love with Eloshian, Laches could have been with Beowulf only because of his similarities with Eloshian... Being the other one, is so... important... Looking at the one, sad for another... hurts...
