Biography of Regi Adams Adisa
My name is Regi . I was born in Great Lakes,
Illinois
on a naval base hospital. I am the oldest of three children and grew up
in a military family. As a
result of I have lived in many diverse and intriguing locales.
I have lived in
New Jersey
,
Iowa
,
Michigan
,
Ohio
and
Saudi Arabia
. I enjoy living in different parts of the country and world.
I find that continuous learning is something that I really enjoy.
I hope to be able to one day build an organization where
learning, self-improvement and continual education is the order of
the day.
I received my bachelor’s degree from
Wilberforce
University
, a small college outside of
Xenia
,
Ohio
. The program was an adult
degree completion program which utilized the cohort system, where
learners move through the entire degree program within the same
group/cohort . Through this
experience I found that I personally learned more effectively in this
format, than in the traditional higher educational structure.
I worked in
Columbus
,
Ohio
(however…Go Blue) as an Assistant Manager with Wal-Mart
Stores Incorporated. While employed with Wal-Mart I had the
chance to teach its Management Trainee Program. The program
utilized many of the principles we are learning about right now,
technology played a prominent role in the learning environment.
I enjoy the work that I did, retail was my second career.
My first career was in health and wellness where I was a personal
trainer and managed corporate fitness facilities for the YMCA. I
taught many wellness and health workshops as well as seminars, while
employed with the YMCA. Teaching has always been something I
received satisfaction from.
I currently reside in
Athens
,
Ohio
. I am completing my degree and launching a training &
development company called e-Lightened
Professionals. This degree will help me grow the company
so that the reach and positive influence of the company will be
expanded.
