Bought
In times yet so free, so liberated those who trust, trust not
Upon the blood spilt gold whom’s blood but that they forgot
In dreams yet so clouded upon hazes of fantasy and desire
To your blood grown green and the faith of light and night, who will take you higher?
You sold your soul for the pleasures of greed and sin and now you’re rich?
But in the end to who, to what can you retrieve and in gashes you must stitch
To set brother against brother for the earthen sky line imaged for so long
Power is not power, you sell the angels of the sky that you feel are no longer strong
Fame is not fame, to be known in sight is memory too bought to be earned
What comes into man will soon leave but what comes out is all that is concerned
To truth in fact is that and that alone but fiction in fact can only be dreamt but earthly bought
To whom’s needs do the society rest upon the man of love or man of making love
You sold your pride for lust and to obtain fickle status, you sold the dove
In the mind many things are to be thought and to you many thing need to be taught
Give into what lust and greed can create, and you’ve given everlasting to the devil to be bought
