Shatter (First Basic): This spell is used in order to Shatter an object, by causing it to burst into flames. If the object is in the possession of another character, they may be affected as well. This power may not be used against living (or unliving) beings, only inanimate objects.
Rouse the Molten Rock (Second Basic): The Mage with this spell may cause molten magma to bubble to the Earth's surface and ooze slowly along the ground. The Mage causes the earth to crack in a small area, and molten rock to pour forth at her command. The Mage may direct the direction of the flow, but this requires her to concentrate fully on controlling the magma, and she may take no other action while doing so. If her concentration is broken (for instance, by entering another Challenge), the magma immediately begins to flow downhill, or along the path of least resistance. At the end of the duration of this power, the magma cools instantly to a slab of solid rock.
Gates of Magma (First Intermediate): At this level of mastery, the Mage may call a bubbling wall of superheated magma from the earth's crust to surround him in a circular ring, 10 feet high. The flow of lava is constant, and forms a nigh-impassable ring of protection around the Mage and any they so choose. So long as this power is in effect, it is nearly impossible to approach, much less attack, the user, without suffering grievous damage. The Gates of Magma cannot be moved from the spot it is invoked on until its duration expires, or the caster is disabled in some fashion (Incapacitated, rendered Torporous, etc.).
Heat Wave (Second Intermediate): The Mage may invoke the heat of the earth to scorch his opponents, drawing forth a blast of hydrogen sulfide from the earth's crust to blast upward, damaging any in it's radius. Mortal victims suffer and may die from such an attack.
Volcanic Blast (Advanced): That this awesome level of mastery, the Mage's mastery of fire is so extreme that he may call forth violent, explosive eruptions of volcanic lava from the earth's crust in order to smite his enemies. Once invoked, a large (approximately 10 feet wide) patch of ground within 50 feet of the caster erupts in a violent explosion of lava and burning rock. The 'blast area' of the eruption is approximately 20 feet wide. The caster will not be harmed by the explosion, though anyone else coming into direct contact with the burning streams of lava suffers.
