Ladder Match for the SWL Quasar Championship

Anna Dea – The following contest is a Ladder Match for the SWL Quasar Championship!

[POP]

Charlie Watkins – This one could steal the show, folks!

Anna Dea – Introducing first, the challenger, weighing in at 293 pounds, from London, England, accompanied by his manager, Ebony, a member of The Regulators, the SWL Quasar Champion, "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes!!!

[The prodigy mix of Methodmans 'Release Yo'delf echoes around the arena. A yellowish hue lights the entrance as ... after a pause Ebony emerge from the back. Once again she is clad in a tight white lycra style top and well worn Levi 501 Jeans. After a few secons 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes emerges from the back dragging with him a rather large ladder. Rhodes is wearing a pair of red spandex jodpurs and matching red boots. He also wears a red SWL 'Captain Amazing' teeshirt. Ebony stands slightly in front of Rhodes, her hands on hips. There is rather a good crowd response to the pair this week. Rhodes lifts the ladder into the air and stands smiling as Ebony begins the walk to the ring. Ebony indicates a belt around her waist and then spins to point at Rhodes who has begun his walk. The pair reaches ringside as Rhodes throws the ladder over the top rope and into the ring. At this point he begins to removes his shirt and once again throws it into the crowd, he then climbs the steel steps and holds the ropes open for Ebony to enter. He follows ... then backs into the corner.]

Anna Dea – His opponent, from Eerie, Indiana accompanied by Mike Miller, weighing in at 234 pounds, the SWL Quasar Champion, the Ghost From No Where!

[The Ghost From No Where and Mike Miller make their way to the ring. The Ghost hands the Quasar Title to referee Kevin Mills and it is suspended on a metal ring and lifted 15 feet in the air.]

Charlie Watkins – That belt is up for grabs now.

Terry Hogan – The object is to get that ladder in the aisle and use it to reach the belt. The first man to get it wins.

[The bell rings and the two men lock up. Rhodes applies an arm wrench and pounds on Ghost's shoulder until Ghost is stunned. He hooks Ghost between his legs and goes for a piledriver. Ghost backdrops Rhodes over the ropes to the outside.]

Charlie Watkins – They're on the outside now.

Terry Hogan – That didn't take long.

[Ghost steps to the apron and hits a cannonball. He picks up Rhodes and goes to whip him into the security railing, but Rhodes reverses it and Ghost hits the railing hard. Rhodes rams Ghost into the steel steps. Rhodes walks down the aisle and gets the ladder.]

Charlie Watkins – The ladder is about to come into play.

[Rhodes lifts the ladder high above his head and prepares to bring it down on Ghost. Ghost somersaults under Rhodes and sweeps his legs out from behind him. Rhodes falls face-first on the ladder.]

Terry Hogan – Ghost was playing possum.

[Ghost sets the ladder up propped on the ring apron. Ghost picks Rhodes up and goes to hip toss him into the ladder. Rhodes blocks it and turns Ghost around. He suplexes Ghost into the ladder.]

Charlie Watkins – That ladder is going to shorten both of these men's careers.

[Rhodes rolls Ghost into the ring and slides the ladder in under the bottom rope. Rhodes picks up the ladder and waits for Ghost to stand up. He charges and smashes the ladder into Ghost's midsection. Rhodes drops the ladder and bodyslams Ghost onto it. He sets up the ladder underneath the belt.]

Terry Hogan – It looks like Rhodes is going to climb the ladder.

[Rhodes begins to take a few steps up the ladder. Ghost begins to stir and grabs Rhodes by the legs. He powerbombs Rhodes off the ladder and the crowd goes wild.]

Charlie Watkins – That ladder is fun for the fans, but murder on the wrestlers.

[Ghost goes for the belt. Rhodes makes his way up and stumbles toward the ropes. He slings off at shoulderblocks the ladder. The ladder tumbles over and Ghost collides with the top rope. Ebony screams at Rhodes to get up and slides a chair into the ring.]

Charlie Watkins – What is Ebony doing?

Terry Hogan – Isn't there enough steel in the ring?

[Rhodes looks quizzically at Ebony, and Ebony shouts something else at him. Rhodes places the ladder on top of Ghost and smashes it with the chair. Ghost hollers in pain and Rhodes reels back. Ebony gets up on the apron and calls Rhodes over. Ebony slaps Rhodes in the face and then points to Ghost. Rhodes places Ghost's leg inside the ladder and hammers it with the chair like a railroad spike.]

Terry Hogan – Ebony is really bringing out the viciousness in Lawrence Rhodes.

[Rhodes sets the ladder up in the corner. Ghost picks up the chair while Rhodes' back is turned. Ghost levels Rhodes with the chair, but Ghost's leg is hurt from the earlier abuse. Ghost stumbles over, grabs the legs of Rhodes and catapults him into the corner and the ladder. Rhodes' head snaps back as he hits the ladder and he crumples to the ground.]

Charlie Watkins – This match is taking a toll on both men.

[From out of nowhere, Kevin Steele appears and takes the chair in the ring. He smashes Ghost and Rhodes with it, knocking them both for a loop. He picks up a microphone from ringside.]

Terry Hogan – Now wait a second. He has no business out here.

Steele - So you got a belt Ghost. I was too focused on the Spotlight Title Last week and let my focus lessen my ability! Trust me Ghost, you deserve that belt more than Rhodes... but believe me it won't be long before I come and take it away from you! Count your days boys…your the new targets!

[Steele exits to the back.]

Charlie Watkins – Is Kevin Steele coming after the Quasar Title now?

Terry Hogan – What makes him think he deserves it? He can't even hold on to the Spotlight Title.

[Ghost gets up slowly and applies the figure-four leglock.]

Charlie Watkins – The Ghost Buster!

Terry Hogan – The Ghost From Nowhere is trying to make sure Rhodes won't be climbing any ladders tonight.

[Rhodes screams in pain and flails his arms around. He drags himself across the ring and finds the chair. He smashes Ghost in the head and the hold is released.]

Charlie Watkins – I can guarantee that chair won't be sat in anymore.

[Rhodes hears Ebony shouting and grabs the ladder. He props it up in the corner astride the top rope and goes to pick up Ghost. He whips Ghost into the corner. Ghost impacts with the ladder and goes flying over the ropes to the outside. The crowd lets out a huge 'uuhwaa". Ghost is unable to move.]

Charlie Watkins – Ghost takes a horrible-looking tumble over the ropes.

Terry Hogan – Let's see what Rhodes can do to capitalize. His legs are in a bad way.

[Rhodes sets up the ladder in the ring close to the ropes on the side of the ring that Ghost is on.]

Charlie Watkins – What's he doing? He's nowhere near the belt.

Terry Hogan – I don't think he's thinking about getting the belt, Charlie.

[Rhodes begins to climb the ladder. The crowd begins to buzz with every step that Rhodes takes. Rhodes reaches the top and stares down at the prone Ghost.]

Charlie Watkins – Don't do it, Lawrence! That has to be a 20-foot drop!

[Rhodes flies off the top of the ladder over the ropes and delivers an elbow directly in the center of the chest of the Ghost as the crowd explodes.]

Charlie Watkins – My God! Both men are down! Rhodes just took a 20-foot plummet from the ladder to the floor!

Terry Hogan – I don't know if either man can get to the belt tonight, Charlie. The referee might need to stop this match.

[Ebony comes over to revive Rhodes. She drags him up and pushes him into the ring. Ghost begins to stir. Ghost climbs to the apron while Rhodes begins to set the ladder up. Rhodes climbs the ladder and reaches for the belt.]

Terry Hogan – He's almost there, Charlie.

[Rhodes' fingers touch the belt as Ghost comes off the top rope with an ax handle smash. Rhodes and Ghost both go down and the ladder falls on Rhodes.]

Charlie Watkins – At this point, one of these men might just want to give up and come back another day.

Terry Hogan – It's a shame they can't both win. This is great.

[The crowd applause begins to build as the audience rallies behind their respective favorite wrestler. Rhodes pulls the ladder off himself, but Ghost gets hold of it. Ghost rams Rhodes with the ladder and forces Rhodes into the corner. Ghost wedges the ladder in place on the mat. Ghost charges in up the ladder and dropkicks Rhodes in the face.]

Charlie Watkins – Rhodes is in some trouble now.

[Rhodes is free of the ladder. Ghost charges him and clotheslines him over the ropes. Ghost sets the ladder up closed on the mat. Rhodes uses the ring apron to pull himself up. He realizes his face is right in front of the ladder and there is a classic deer-in-the-headlights moment a split second before Ghost baseball slides into the ladder, smashing it into Rhodes' head.]

Terry Hogan – Amazing.

Charlie Watkins – These men are putting it all on the line tonight.

[Ghost sets up the ladder under the belt. Rhodes sees it and fights with all his might to get up. We see that his face is bleeding. Rhodes climbs the ladder a few steps behind Rhodes. Ghost reaches for the belt and gets a right hand from Rhodes. They trade right hands until Ghost hooks the arm and leg of Rhodes. Ghost pulls Rhodes over the top of the ladder and falls backwards with an AWESOME cradle DDT.]

Charlie Watkins – DOWNFALL! DOWNFALL OFF THE TOP OF THE LADDER!!!

Terry Hogan – Ghost used that move to win the title. Now he may use it to hold on to it.

[Rhodes is knocked out. Ghost approaches the ladder, which is miraculously still upright. Ghost climbs the ladder step by step. Rhodes begins to get up, but he is too late. Ghost unhooks the belt from the harness and the bell rings.]

Anna Dea – The winner of this match…and STILL SWL Quasar Champion, The Ghost From Nowhere!

Terry Hogan – Believe it or not, it was that 20-foot elbow drop that took Rhodes out of this match. From there, it was all The Ghost.

[Mike Miller helps Ghost get down from the ladder as the bloodied Rhodes lays in the ring. Miller begins to stomp on Rhodes.]

Charlie Watkins – Hey, come on! The match is over.

[The Ghost pulls Miller off Rhodes and leaves the ring, followed by Ebony and Rhodes. The crowd is in a stunned silence.]

Terry Hogan – What happened?

Charlie Watkins – I don't know, but we've just seen one of the damndest matches ever. They'll remember that one for a long time to come. Well, that brings us to our main event.
