Duke
Nukem
Manhattan Project "All
the classic baddies from Duke’s last PC outing
are here and along with some new ones"
Did I like this game?
Well, I guess so. I did have fun running around blowing
shit up, ‘course who doesn’t enjoy blowing
shit up?
But is it a good game?
Sure. It’s a throwback to the classic day of platform
shooters that ruled the gaming industry in the late
80’s early 90’s. And the addition of 3D
environments is pretty cool, but becomes frustrating
when you want to explore your surroundings and all you
can do is move backwards and forwards and jump.

Mad as hell!
The 3D environments
actually are really well done and with some of the unique
level designs give off some cool ass images. The camera
angles, not always straight on but angled, roaming,
and curving to match Duke’s movement through out
the level, give off good faux non-linear movement.
All the classic baddies
from Duke’s last PC outing are here and along
with some new ones, but sadly they can all be dispatched
rather easily, at no time did I feel at all in trouble
from the characters. The only thing that ever gave me
trouble in this game was a goddamn puzzle on level 7
involving some damn blasted rotating platforms. It took
me about 30 minutes to figure it out.

For a PC game, DN:MP
was rather lackluster but it is a budget game, something
you can pick up for like 20 bucks at and store that
sells PC games, and I enjoyed my 4 hours of playing
it. The classic cheesy one-liners get annoying after
awhile and the clear lack of what to do next is annoying,
but its really nostalgic playing it, almost making me
want to bust out my old copy of Duke Nukem and do some
multi-playing action.
Overall, DN:MP gets
3.5 outta 5. I had some fun, the sound was repetitive
but the 3D graphics was pretty good, just too bad it
was a platform shooter.
