My Initial Thoughts On Season 9 [from what I've heard so far...]

"No David, Less Gillian, More Characters and Blatant Titles!"

David is gone, leaving my last memory of Mulder to be a horrible one. The acids in my stomach churn a little when I think of this, but I'm okay.

There will be less Gillian. I can tolerate/understand that since she's phasing herself out of the series. They're trying to prepare us for the vacuum that lies ahead. At this point, everything is still okay with me.

Krycek is "gone." I use quotations because I believe that unless Krycek is taken into the town square, beat with sticks, beheaded, torched, and thrown in a wood chipper, he is alive. It helps me get through watching an episode. This really bothers me, but I'm a gritty American, so I can manage.

The show will focus more on Doggett [cool] and Reyes [not cool, but I can deal]. I feel that my opinions of each character neutralize one another, so I'm still alright.

They're adding Lucy Lawless and Cary Elwes...And now they begin to lose me. First off, I think that it is sort of insulting to Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish. It is sort of implying that they can't carry the show on their own. Plus, nothing against Lucy, but getting Xena on The X-Files leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It just seems as though they want to pick up the fans of that show, to add to our dwindling numbers.

The most recent thing that I've heard that really bothers me is that the premiere is titles "Nothing Important Happened Today." Gee, thanks for giving me advanced warning. I'll watch Alias instead. [Alright, so I'm lying, but I will most certainly have someone tape Alias for me!] Doesn't that title just get you geared up and ready to go. Why don't they take a network crossover title like "Worst Episode EVER" or what about "Where's My Remote?"

I believe that if the Season 9 suckage is sufficient, I will name it "Nothing Important Happened This Season."
