My Terrible and Sad Wait for the UPS Man

Alright, this is just to make you all realize how pathetic I am. Actually, I'm just trying to do something to pass the time, since Solitaire is only so much fun.

I ordered an *awesome* set of earphones from Sony [first plug of the day!] last week. Over a week ago, to be technical. 9 days ago...16 hours...and about 13 minutes...I don't have a second thing on my confirmation... Anyway, Sony takes a couple of days just to ship things. And they *always* send UPS. Not that there's anything wrong with UPS Ground Service, except that I honestly feel as though my package of earphones could crawl here faster. I mean, I ordered Snatch on DVD the same night [2nd plug, because really, I'm not saying anything nice about UPS, even though the delivery people are all very nice and it is a good service...I'm sure.] and it got here on Thursday. That's like half the time this has taken. Of course, the big difference is that I could order my movie through Amazon.com [plug number 3], which is awesome at shipping stuff, unlike Sony [ohh...shot down] which seems to feel that they need to take out the fact that Americans are inferior, by shipping things to me in 3 or 4 days, rather than 3 to 4 hours, like Amazon so kindly does.

Now, one thing that I enjoy about UPS [oh, a plus coming through] is that everything has tracking numbers and you can look on the internet and find out where your package is and when it should be where you are. Of course, I have gone to this marvel among services to see just where my earphones are, ever since I received confirmation. I have seen my package go from Canada [which bothers me slightly...not Canada...even though they can sometimes, I'm sure...but the fact that they had to come all the way from Canada...really, couldn't they give some AMERICANS jobs sorting out things? I mean, when are you going to get over WWII?!] to California, Illinois, and New Stanton, PA. Now, today is the day that it is supposed to come to my house...but where is it?!

It is now 4:54 PM, and I have yet to see that big, brown truck come lumbering up my driveway. I know that the UPS guy knows where I live, because they've been here quite a few times, and we're always quite nice. Now I'm worried that maybe the UPS people promoted him or he quit to go work for FedEx because there is nothing in my driveway! Maybe some idiot replacement gave my earphones to some evil neighbor that will keep them! [gasp] I hadn't even thought of this! What if my UPS man got in an accident. Those trucks are rather large and unstable. Plus, they just park them wherever they like, since they are UPS, afterall.

Ok, I just need to calm myself a bit. It's ok. BUT IT'S NOT! We're supposed to be able to count on these people, and I'm afraid that I just may get whiplash looking out the window every time I here a car! Why can't he just get here already. Although, I'm sure he wishes to make a great contribution the this Twisted Psyche moment, he is causing me undue mental trauma. Plus, I have to go to Taekwondo tonight, and I don't want to leave the house! What if I miss him!? Do they leave the packages at the door? If they do, maybe an evil neighbor would come and take it. What if they take them to a neighbor's house and ask them to give it to you? Do they to that?! Really, I doubt my neighbors would give me anything that was mine! Oh, this is awful!

Why is it that I always seem to be the one waiting for people?! For once, I'd like to see the UPS guy just sitting at my house when I get home or something. "There you are! I've been waiting here for 45 minutes!"

Ok, I finally broke down and walked away from the window, so I could get a drink of water. It only took like 35 seconds, though, so I'm sure he didn't come and leave and everything and I just missed it, unless I was abducted by aliens or something, but all nine minutes seem to be there. Just as long as I'm not delusional, I'm ok. Really, I'm not...yet.

Maybe, I should go check along my road and see if he broke down or something...or call the UPS people and ask if they've had any accidents in my area today. My neighbors drive wrecklessly! It *is* a possibility, people.

HE'S HERE! Oh, how could I have ever doubted him!

Yay! Victory is mine! 5:11 PM
