The Forgotten Duo

Part 4

Heero woke up in a dark room, with dark curtains next to a young man with dark cloths on, Duo. They must have fallen asleep together. He sighed in happiness. He felt free, like so much weight had been lifted of his shoulders. He now looked at the person who had saved him, yes saved him, more then once but never this much. And he Heero Yui had saved Duo Maxwell. He felt great. All he could do to express this was pull Duo closer to him and lightly kiss him and the forehead. It all felt so right.

Just then Duo shot up. He looked at Heero for a second and not knowing what else to do tried to make a joke. "OOO guess someone got lost last night looking for his bed, ha ha ha!"

Heero couldn’t believe it Duo had made a joke. AND he was laughing. Heero smiling as much as he could lunged towards Duo hugging him like mad man. "You’re back, You’re back, Oh my Shinigami I have missed you."

Duo looked surprised at first but then started to remember. Not just last night BUT everything that had happened since his time at the Maxwell church. Everything came back to him. But best of all the emptiness inside him had finally been filled. He wasn’t alone OR sad anymore. And he had Heero to thank. He quickly embraced Heero back. "Thank you, I knew you would come in handy if I kept you along long enough." They both smiled at this and just held on to each other tighter.

By this time all the Gundam Pilots, having heard Heero’s screams (Heero screaming????) had run upstairs, only to find a happy (happy??) Heero hugging a smiling (smiling??) Duo. Quatre immediately realised that Duo could remember once again. And ran up to join in the hug. Trowa and Wufie just stood at the side smiling knowingly to them selves.

And with a soft whisper, so soft only Duo could here, Heero said "Duo I now know who you are and I love you, every part of you that exist."
