A vigilante fighting against corporate oppression, Cardiac began his life as humble doctor Eli Wirtham, having become a doctor to avenge the death of his brother Joshua who was denied a cure to his illness because an available cure wasn't cost effective for it's developers. Eli's obcessions grew over time however, and he later altered his skin and heart surgically with a vibranium mesh and a compact beta-particle reactor. On his quest to expose injustice in major corporations, Cardiac encountered Spider-Man, who he would go on to share an edgy, though mutually respectful relationship.

Cardiac soon ran into several heavy-hitters on his quest, icluding the Rhino, the Scorpion and Wolverine, and even had to face an evil duplicate of himself named Cardiaxe. With the aid of his friend Nightwatch, Cardiac took down his evil double, though Nightwatch was slain in battle against the hit-man for hire El Toro Negro. Having learned of Nightwatch's death, Cardiac went after Toro's employer James Johnsmeyer and with the help of Spider-Man was able to expose Johnsmeyer's villainy. Cardiac has since encountered Wolverine in his unending quest to expose corporate lies and hidden agendas, and he will not rest until his mission is over.

Powers and Abilities: Cardiac's skin is laced with Vibranium and protects his from harm. His heart has also been replaced with a compact beta-particle reactor which gives his super-human endurance and strength.
