 Serial killer Cletus Kasady, a man deemed untreatable, bonded with a piece of the symbiote that freed his one-time cell mate Eddie Brock, a man better known as Venom! The spawn from the symbiote when bonded with Kasady led him to become the super-powered maniac Carnage! Although halted during his initial encounter with Spider-Man, Carnage later ganged up with fellow Spider-Man haters, Doppleganger, Carrion, Shriek and Demogoblin and created "Maximum Carnage" throughout New York. It took the combined efforts of Spider-Man, Venom, Black Cat, Captain America, Morbius and others to stop Carnage's murderous rampage. Later Carnage was briefly released by the enigmatic Judas Traveller during his take over of The Ravenscroft Institute, and for a short while was bonded with Ben Reilly, the Spider-Clone to create: Spider-Carnage! Recently, when the Ravencroft Institute for the mentally ill, underwent new management, Carnage escaped, and took over control of the Silver Surfer. After rejoining Kasady, however, the Silver Surfer placed Carnage is an unbreakable etheral shell.
Mysteriously Kasady reappeared, freed of his etheral shell, and was in prison. Shortly after that though, Venom returned and took back the Carnage symbiote, leaving Kasady more crazed than ever, to the point where he painted himself red and began jumping on cars with a knife. Spider-Man stopped Kasady and then the two where transported to the Negative Zone, wherein Kasady joined with a new symbiote that was nearly identical to his previous one.
Powers and Abilities: possessing a symbiote more powerful than even Venom's, Carnage is nearly invincible. He is able to create razor-sharp weapons, and can create organic webbing. It is assumed that these powers carried through to Kasady's new symbiote.
