Few villains have caused Peter Parker Pain like Miles Warren has. Originally Miles Warren was a college professor to Peter and nothing else. However Warren began to grow fond of a student of his Gwen Stacy, who was dating Peter at the time. Warren continued work on cloning human beings, his work he felt would make him internationally known. He took tissue samples from some of his students including Peter and Gwen to use if his dream of cloning succeeded. Gwen was ultimately killed during a battle between Peter and the Green Goblin. Warren took this to heart and was clouded with the thoughts that Spider-Man killed Gwen. Warren then hired the paid assassin The Punisher to kill Spider-Man. The Punisher failed and Warren created a costume and new identity for himself, The Jackal! Warren then attempted to clone Peter only to have his clone begin to decompose. Warren stopped the decomposing, and cast out the clone. He then successfully cloned Gwen and he defeated Spider-Man and cloned him. It was then Warren discovered that Peter and Spider-Man were one. Warren sent the clone to defeat Spider-Man, only to have Spider-Man defeat the clone. Warren was believed to of been killed in an explosion, and the Spider-Man and Gwen clones were believed dead. A test was done on Peter to determine if he was the clone or not, for Peter believed that he may be the clone and the clone may be the actual Spider-Man. Peter discarded the test results and went for the next five years believing he was the real Spider-Man. However around the time Peter was dealing with Aunt May's sudden stroke, and the so-called return of his parents the clone resurfaced. It was revealed that Warren hadn't died during the explosion but a clone of him had. And it was revealed that Warren had saved the clone. The original Peter Parker clone returned now calling himself Kaine, he constantly tracked the clone where ever he went. The clone began calling himself Ben Reilly, after his Uncle Ben and his Aunt May's maiden name. Aunt May died around this point, due to her stroke. A third Peter Parker clone entered confusing everyone even more. During a test performed by Ben's mentor and friend Steward Trainer (Who was also Warren's second lab assistant) it was revealed that Peter was actually the clone. Peter couldn't believe this, and he lashed out at Mary-Jane who had learned she was pregnant. Ben, on the other hand, was over-joyed to learn that he was more than a "Fake" human. Warren continued his assault on the world hell-bent on the notion it would be better if he replaced the world's population with clones. Warren destroyed an entire city killing thousands in the process in his insane rage and he turned the third clone into the killing machine Spidercide. Warren's final plan came to fruition as he was to release a virus that kills upon impact. Warren was defeated and he fell to his death while saving the Gwen Stacy clone from falling off the edge of the Daily Bugle's roof. His dying words "Where the dream ends, the nightmare begins!", would later haunt Peter. Spidercide died during the fight also. Warren's dying words triggered something in Peter's head that caused him to nearly kill Mary-Jane but with her help he over came it. Soon after that Steward's daughter Carolyn appeared seeking revenge on Steward for years of neglect as Dr. Octopus 2, and her almost killing Peter caused him to give up being Spider-Man. Ben later took on that role as Dr. Octopus 2, while using a fake Scarlet Spider, caused chaos. Ben was later killed by Warren's former benefactor Norman Osborn, The Green Goblin. The Jackal that was killed is presumed to be the actual Jackal and not a clone. Powers and Abilities: Warren has a genius level intelligence, and he has superhuman strength.
