The lizard's DNA set into Connor's blood stream, changing him into a human Lizard. Dubbed the Lizard by the Daily Bugle, Connor's sought to change all of humanity in his own image. Spider-Man intervened, and the Lizard reverted back to Connors. Connors became the Lizard several more times, through accidentally taking the serum and through stress, which caused Connor's Reptilian side of his brain to take control. The Lizard would go on to fight Spider-Man on numerous occasions including the Tablet of Time incident and the period where Spider-Man grew four more arms.

Recently it was thought that the Lizard was de-evolving, as the "New" Lizard was taken over, by mind control, by Calypso. The Lizard killed Calypso upon regaining control of itself. Shortly after that, Peter took ill and was placed in a hospital, Curt Connors came to help Peter, who Connors had interacted with over time. The "New" Lizard showed up, and tried to capture Dr. Connors for an unknown reason. The Ben Reilly Spider-Man tracked it to Florida, and learnt that the "New" Lizard was a genetically created creature, that had both a lizard's DNA and Connors. Dr. Connors became the Lizard into order to save his son, Billy.

After about six months or so, Peter, Ben Urich and Mary Jane headed to Miami, to cover a new designer drug story, and they met up with the Connors. Curt had publically revealed that he was the Lizard also. Through investigation, Peter discovered that Dr. Connors created the drug, by being forced to do so by the Lizard persona within his mind. After a brief tussle between Spider-Man and the Lizard, Dr. Connors reverted to himself again, and left to go seek help for his mistrust of society.

Having received the treatment he needed, Curt Connors returned to his family, still plagued by the Lizard. However, when crime boss Hammerhead wished to recover the Tablet of Time to use it's power to cure his sister's cancer, he went to Dr. Connors, given Connor's involvement with the first attempt to recover the Tablet of Time. His family kidnapped as blackmail, Connor's went along with Hammerhead's plans, but due to the stress surrounding things he broke down and became the Lizard once more. However in the midst of things, the Tablet's were recovered and Hammerhead gained their power, using it to cure Dr. Connors of the Lizard and to restore his missing arm. Hammerhead returned to normal and was escorted off by the police and Connors returned to his family, all too happy to see him. The Connors have returned to Florida at peace, the spectre of the Lizard no longer hanging over them.

Powers and abilities: As the Lizard, Connors has super strength, agility and stamina. As Connors, he has the strength of a normal person, with an above level intelligence.
