Morbius
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #101

The tale of Michael Morbius is that of a tragic one. Once a noble prize winning scientist, Michael learned he was diagnosed with a fatal illness. He injected himself with a cure derived from the DNA of a bat, not knowing of it's disastrous side effects. Michael was transformed into a living vampire, who's means of survival was to feed on the plasma of the humans. Morbius arrived in America just as Spider-Man had attempted to get rid of his spider powers, and resulting in Spider-Man growing four extra limbs. After many encounters as foes, Morbius and Spider-Man formed a truce of sorts, resulting in Morbius assisting in the defeat of Carnage during Maximum Carnage.

Morbius renounced his killing of innocents to feed himself after falling in love. However, in time Morbius went back to his ways, feeding upon the caretaker at Empire State University. Upon learning that Morbius had gone back to his old ways, Spider-Man went to stop him from feeding on Dr. Maria Jenson, an attempt that resulted in Morbius feeding upon Spider-Man. That caused vertigo in the coming months for Spider-Man. Morbius turned to Dr. Jenson for help to become human once more, but learned that she was involved with the mercenary group Hydra, in order to help her lover, Crown. Morbius was brain washed into helping Hydra against Spider-Man, but in the end helped Spider-Man, Hammerhead and SHOC defeat Hydra for the time being, saving the lives of hundreds in the process. Morbius still seeks a cure for his condition. Recently Morbius ran into Blade, the vampire hunter, and, for some reason or another, ended up inside a crate in an adventure involving Spider-Man and Blade. It was during this time that Morbius bit Blade, giving the vampire hunter super-natural powers.

Powers and Abilities: Morbius has superhuman strength, the ability of flight, razor sharp teeth and a ghastly appearance of glowing red eyes and pale white skin.
