Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #3 (April 2001)
Bendis Hester Parks

Team-Up #3 the plot: His fight with the Hulk still in full swing, Spider-Man tries to take the Hulk away from the paths of innocents, but only endures more beatings at the jade giant's hands. Spidey manages to draw the Hulk over to the harbor front though and takes him into a warehouse, using a fish as bait. The Hulk eats the fish, and having calmed down he reverts into puny Bruce Banner. Banner tries to get away and maintain his stability, but is overcome and becomes the Hulk when General "Thunderbolt" Ross and his government troops arrive. The Hulk gets away and the troops continue their pursuit. Spidey, meanwhile, catches up on his sleep.

the review: So, this is where I review the issue in question, but to be honest, I'm not really sure what to make of Ultimate Team-Up #3. It was a decent issue to be sure, but it seemed brief, and with little substance beyond a neat fight between Spidey and the Hulk. Don't get me wrong though, the fight was great though. It was well paced and Phil Hester's artwork is excellent. His Hulk is great and Spidey is all over the place, but it would have been better though to have the story progress beyond the fight. The bit at the end of the story with the introduction for General Ross and his Hulk Busters, was intresting, but brief, and left us with too many unanswered questions, that are unlikely to be answered soon. It was a good read though, a quick story, good for new readers, the purpose behind it. In that sense it worked, but for older readers a little more to it would have been nice.

So, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #3 was a good book with great artwork, but could have had a little more to it.

Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #3 gets *** out of *****
