the plot: As the villainous Scarlet Spider holds hostages at a television station, the New Warriors and Spider-Man race to the rescue, and an epic battle ensues. Meanwhile Stephanie Briggs, the police partner of Joe Wade, the man who was transformed by Dr. Octopus into the new Scarlet Spider, tries to track them down, and does...but so do the FBI who want Wade as a lab rat. When the fight hits the city streets, Briggs talks the Scarlet Spider down, and he reverts back to Joe Wade, and although the FBI take him away, Briggs promises to be there at every step. And as the Warriors and Spidey take a breather, Justice and Firestar reflect on just who or what the Scarlet Spider was. But one things for sure: He was no Spider-Man. And Ben Reilly webslings off to save the day once more!
