the plot: When people, including Betty Brant, go missing in the Morlock tunnels below New York, Spider-Man goes to investigate along with his unlikely partner Marrow, who is looking for her absent mentor Calisto. The two heroes discover though that the kidnapper is a faux-vampire named Hunger, who gets away in the end and is revealed to have been sent by the wicked Senator Ward.
