Peter Parker: Spider-Man #23 v.2 (September 2000)
Jenkins Buckingham Green

Peter #23 the plot: While getting ready for his first art gallery showing of his photos and finally coming to terms with his status as a widower after Mary Jane's death, Peter Parker has to deal with a axe-grinding lunatic named Typeface. After tracking down Typeface, and receiving a warning that the letter-themed villain's plan will take action at the same time as the gallery showing (That's Parker luck for you), a sluggish Peter tries to get some sleep and wakes up on an alien space-ship. Uh oh.

Peter #24 the plot: The aliens who've taken Peter explain (through their lawyer, no less) that they've been performing tests on humans in New York and their testing on Peter has resulted in a freak alien hybrid that's now running around New York. Suiting up, Spider-Man lures the creature to Typeface's trap where he plans to get revenge on his old boss. Realizing the error of his ways, Typeface teams with Spidey and they defeat the alien creature. Spidey swings off to his showing, but Typeface is sadly loss it seems, when his ex-boss blows the letter master up in his own bomb.
