the plot: While Spider-Man and the Silver Surfer deal with their own lives and fights separatly, they are drawn into battle courtesy of the Thinker and Quasimodo, the true mastermind. Hidden in the body of one of the Thinker's Awesome Androids, Quasimodo makes himself known and takes over Spider-Man, who confronts the Surfer. Spider-Man regains awareness but he and the Surfer are wisked away to Sanctuary II, a space station created by Thanos, now manned by Quasimodo. However, just after Quasimodo begins his attack on the heroes, Thanos arrives, destroying Quasimodo, and transports the heroes to Earth, to the gravesite of a long departed friend of the Surfer. After reflecting on the departed Alvin Harper, an old friend of the Silver Surfer's (who passed on way back in SIlver Surfer v.1 #5), the two heroes go to have drink in Harper's memory.
