the plot: Amazing Spider-Man #3 and #5 redux. Continuing from last issue, Spider-Man has been defeated and humbled on national television, at the tentacled hands of Dr. Octopus. Flash Thompson is furious, and J. Jonah Jameson is living it up, while Peter Parker in the midst of everything discovers that he no longer needs his glasses. Flash tries to scare Peter in a store-bought Spidey suit, but is mistaken for the real thing by Dr. Doom, and Peter, after being given a pep talk by Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, defeats Doc Ock at last and goes after Doom. Spidey's trapped by the armored fiend though, but when things look their worst, the Fantastic Four set out the save the day.
