the plot:
When Martha Connors gets cancer from exposure to toxic elements created by Arliss, a wealthy industrialist, Dr. Curt Connors unleashes the feral Lizard to avenge his wife, and it's up to Spider-Man to save Arliss, and the Lizard, when Arliss' brutal bodyguard Yith arrives on the scene. Plus Doc Ock shows up, and J. Jonah Jameson rants as usual.
By the way, did I mention that this comic was all done in CGI?
the review:
The artwork is very impressive. The CGI is great and looks very dynamic. I wish they'd produce an animated short, or film in this style. It's neat seeing the entire cast of the Spidey books in 3D. Unfortunatly the writing by talented scribe Greg Rucka falls a little short. It seems a little too simple for a writer of Rucka's calibre, but I guess that's too be expected for a book that's obviously aimed towards younger readers. I just hope some of them are able to pick up this series.
The art is fantastic, but I don't think I'll be picking up the following issues. Still, for kids that've never picked up a comic, this might be a good entry into comicdom. **1/2 out of *****.
