the plot: When Herbert Landon, the new CEO of the Brand Corporation, announces revelutionary breakthroughs in the study of mutant DNA, Henry McCoy, the X-Men's Beast, and Spider-Man attend a conference to discuss this. Beast, who worked for Brand years before is concerned that Landon's theories stem from his own work, but the whole thing is interupted when the Hobgoblin attacks, and has a personal connection to Landon. Can Spidey and the Beast save the crowd, when a pumpkin bomb plummets towards a crowd?
This three-part mini-series, which also tied into the Spider-Man newspaper strip by Stan Lee, was later adapted into two episodes of the Spider-Man animated series. Landon, who appeared only in these three issues would become a regular on the mid-nineties Spider-Man.
