Spider-Man Classics Series 3: The Lizard (2002) the desription: the articulation: Neck, jaw, shoulders, biceps, waist, hips, knees, and tail
the design: The Lizard for the first wave of the new Spider-Man line is a re-release of the
Lizard from the 1997 Web Force lineup. Though instead of including a large
steamroller accessory, they simply threw in a rubber garbage can found in
numerous WCW sets. They also tewaked the colors, for the better. The skin is
darker, the coat has a black paint wash, and the pants are now blue(the original
had.... pink pants).
One reason I assume for the recycling is that, despite the fact the figure was
sculpted for a 5" scale line, the figure fits in better with a line sculpted to
the 6" scale. But in the process, the figure laks a lot of the excessive
double-jointing and extra movement of newer Toy Biz figures.
But their choice of materials is questionable. The green plastic used is a lot
harder than on the original. It's noticable especially in the neck, which is
loose(so loose, the head may snap off on the first turn). I've also had problems
with the tail joint, and the waist won't turn. The rest of the joints also have
a habit of sticking.
the review: Basically, it makes a nice display piece with the more recent figures, but the
plastic makes it virtually unposeable. ***
