The Squid
First appearance: Peter Parker: Spider-Man volume two #16

The master criminal known as the Squid first appeared as a member of the Wicked Brigade, a team of bounty hunters hired to claim a price put up on Spider-Man's head. Along with his girlfriend Ms. Fortune, the Squid endured a swift defeat at Spidey's hands, while the webbed wonder mused about the lack of originality in his new villains and the predictability of his life. The Squid managed to get in a clear shot at Spidey though, covering him with an ink blast, which, if anything, left Spider-Man blackened and smelling terrible.

After the Wicked Brigade was defeated, the Squid and his associates Ms. Fortune, Ogre, Razor Wire, Lightning Fist and Master Monarch, went into hiding for a time until the Squid returned and his origins were revealed. The Squid was in actuality Donny Callahan, the son of Mike Callahan, one of Spidey's dads best friends. Disgraced at his first defeat and near death, the Squid took to hiring himself out to local crime bosses as a thug. Angry because of his initial defeat, his betrayal by those who had given him powers (it had been revealed that Master Monarch, who in his first appearence released a near lethal blast on the members of the Wicked Brigade, was directly for empowering his former teammates) and that Ms. Fortune, also known as Laura, wouldn't talk to him anymore. When Peter Parker went to visit "Big" Mike Callahan in an attempt to find out more about his late father, the Squid attacked a nearby store owner, and Spider-Man leapt into action to save the day. It was Spider-Man's intervention and repetition of his fathers own soothing words, that the Squid and Mike reconsiled and are presumably closer together.

What the Squid and his father are up to currently remains unknown, but they're probably continuing their reaquaintence. The whereabouts of the other members of the Wicked Brigade is not known.

Powers and Abilities: The Squid has an additional four limbs to use in combat and can emit a very strong and potent black ink substance. While the source of the Squid's powers have been mentioned in passing as being granted to him, it is unknown if his squid-like appearence is a suit, or can be manifested at will.
