Born John Charles Dodge

One important fact about me... I have a very cynical yet laughable sense of humor. I love to use humor to point out many of the problems in society. I will be the first to laugh at myself, at gay culture and at modern life in America.  George Carlin had a big impact on my early childhood, now I find a kindred spirit with Lewis Black and other political satirists. And then there was Bloom County!

I was born in Toledo and have lived 95% of my life here. Not so bad of a place once you get used to it. Everything you really need is here. Although I was born here I was taken home from the hospital to Ypsilanti, Michigan. My father was working up there at the time and that is where the homestead was. Roughly a year later the whole pack was moved back to the Toledo area.

I have 3 sisters and a brother. I am the youngest by far. I am very close with both my parents and do love my family. They all know about me being gay and have learned to see me as the same nutcase they raised and grew up with.

My sisters exposed me to a lot of things in my life, some good and some bad. I didn't know what was bad at the time, I thought it was 'cool'. I survived and chalk it up as a part of growing up (I only wish my sisters had the same attitude). My oldest sister, Tina, passed away from skin cancer in December of 1996. She had just turned 37. I have always been close with my sister Wendy but as the years pass I feel that I am slowly detaching from my siblings. I hardly see my brother Tony and my sister Roberta. They feel most comfortable with themselves by not associating with me and some other members of my family. I love them all but I guess for the time being it is best to do it from a distance.

Enough of that.........

My interests???  MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC... travel, movies, reading, chatting and sex. Music is my biggest love. I have been a huge music fan since I was 8 or 9. I remember listening to the radio with my family and had a little AM transistor radio I kept by my bed at night. I was exposed to everything... big band jazz, country & western,  pop standards, disco, rock of all styles and genres and I settled on my favorite style/genre NEW WAVE/POST PUNK and now I find myself torn between so many styles which include industrial, techno, alternative country, world music (African & Celtic) & classical. I was 10 when it hit me. I remember hearing the Sex Pistols and how that was so different from everything else I have ever heard. Then I saw Adam & the Ants on American Bandstand... the costumes were funny but the music.... the music was so unique. I was in love for the first time in my life!!! Well, actually Dan Haggerty stole my heart much earlier but that is another story.

So what do I listen to now?... Ultravox is my favorite act of all. They seem to have captured all the sounds I like the most and put them all together in one package. I also really like to listen to U2, New Order, The Fixx, INXS, Duran Duran, 10,000 Maniacs, XTC, Texas, Tragically Hip, David Bowie, Underworld, Bob Mould/Sugar/Husker Du, Peter Gabriel, Sisters of Mercy, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, The Cure, R.E.M., Echo & the Bunnymen, Front 242, Travis, Chris Isaak, Joy Division, Afro-Celt Sound System, Icehouse, Japan, Human League, Smashing Pumpkins, Midnight Oil, Suede, The Clash, The Damned, Stranglers and the list can go on forever...

As far as the rest of my interests go... I love to cook. I prefer to cook for friends and family whenever I can get any of them around. For movies... I like dramas, epics, biographies, b-movies, indies, sci-fi, supernatural/paranormal, historical pieces and well written comedies. I am developing a decent collection of films on DVD... come over and watch one sometime.

Yes, I am a big 'ol nasty fag. I suck cock, fuck ass and I really don't give a damn if you don't like me because of that - I don't have to live with you. I like men, I like having sex with men. I am not PC and I am not going to be the safe-sex poster boi either. I do what I do the way I like to do it. I feel comfortable with my attitude about sex and refuse to have to answer to anybody outside my circle of sexual partners about what I do and how I do it... and who does it with me. If you don't agree with my views about sex, then don't have sex with me - yes, it IS that easy. 

I identify myself with the bear sub-culture. Feels as if that word is losing it's meaning anymore but it is most descriptive of my attitude and image. I am not a bear because it is cool now to be a bear. I am not a cub, I never have identified with any of it's connotations - young, more playful, submissive. I am a jeans and flannel kind of guy, very relaxed and just want to enjoy life. You will get no fake macho bull-shit from me nor do I try to be anything other than a goofy awkward guy - the REAL me!

I love "my bear", Joe. I may say MY bear but he is not my possession. He is special to me and I have a great bond with him like I have never experienced before with anyone or anything. His feelings come first to me and his time with me comes first. We are very committed to each other and we do have an open relationship. I have great friends who I love very dearly, they are a second family to me. They are all very honored people in my life!

Yes, Joe and I are looking for a 3rd man to bring into our relationship. If YOU think you are interested or capable of taking part in such a relationship then great - let us know and we can talk and learn more about each other. If you are NOT interested, that is great. You are welcome to become a friend of ours and the concept will never be introduced to you. This is something that will call for a special person and we are not pushing the issue on anybody we meet. Back to the subject of sex. I will not have sex for the sake of having sex. I am not interested in just getting off or fucking ONLY for fun. I prefer there be some kind of a bond - friendship or buddy. If you are wanting to join me (or both of us) for some playtime then you better be willing to be a friend. If you can't handle that then look elsewhere. By being a friend you would be willing to call us, write us or even just pop over and hang out with us. I find it funny that I get judged by guys for having sex with friends and they have no problem letting every other guy they meet suck their cock. I am told it's weird what I do. Well guy, I think it's weird what you do. I think it is weird to let anything swing on your dick and then pass judgment about somebody else's sexual behaviors. 

I am finding myself at a crossroads right now. I am 33 and wondering in what direction I want to take my life now. My last employer is going belly-up and I was cut to save them money. I am looking to see where my life needs to be with Joe and what profession I want to dive into. I hope to learn a lot more about myself during this time. I hope others will too!

As part of the learning process I have been going through I feel it is time for me to express myself more clearly to a much broader audience. For these expressions you will need to know two things and to ALWAYS keep them in mind: 1) I have a sense of humor, and I am not afraid to use it. 2) Nothing is sacred to me, everything in life deserves to be made fun of, including myself. If you cannot find the humor in life's everyday existence then I suggest you do not read any of my commentaries as I am sure you will find something offensive and want to get on a soapbox and mouth off about what I said. And, I am sure, that you will be rather harsh and focus on one line of a whole paragraph and miss the entire statement and it's meaning. Save yourself the rise in your blood pressure and don't read them. If you are objective, caring, HUMAN and observant of all the layers in our world then I think you will enjoy them.
