Batman's soul reason for pretending to research a cure for his fellow Justice Lords powers was in order to throw off any suspicion that he was in league with the Rebels. After Superman discovered the cure Bruce faked his death, and Batman became an active member of the Justice Rebels. Though he's not much of a team player he dose fight for the same cause. His new costume is an exo suit that enhances his strength and senses to those equal to Superman.
